Welcome To Our SeaDreams Travel Blog

“To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.” – Aldous Huxley

We love to travel. In fact, since we retired in 2011 we've been actively exploring this world for 6 to 8 months yearly & will continue as long as we can still pack a suitcase.

The 'we' here is Sandy & Jack. We'd like to take you along with us on a fast paced, worldwide journey via our words & original videos.

Together, we'll share ideas, sights & 1st hand tips about traveling all 7 continents. We'll swim with sharks in Bora Bora, watch humpback wales 'bubble feed' in Alaska, dance in the streets of Cuba, twirl with Turkey's Whirling Dervishes, enjoy the peace and unbelievable colors of an Antarctic afternooon.......

Our goal is to excite & encourage you to try your own treks around this world & help you see the truth & wisdom of Mr. Huxley's above quote.

We will try to add at least one new 'adventure' each week & answer any question you may have. It may be difficult while we're traveling - not every place has world class internet - but we will try our best as we take this global journey together.

Happy Travels!!!!

Sandy & Jack

WANT TO VISIT 'JAMES BOND' ISLAND?

WANT TO VISIT 'JAMES BOND' ISLAND?
Want to travel like 007?

Or at least be in the exotic place where they filmed important scenes of a Bond blockbuster? Then let us take you to Thailand for a wonderful, jaw dropping trek.

>
> We sailed into Phuket on one stop of 2016's Holland America's World Cruise. Transferred by comfortable air conditioned motor coach - with a very fluent English speaking guide - and in less than an hour we were whisked into the magic of Thailand waterways.
>
> Jumping into colorful, 'long tail' boats' (' Ruea Hang Yao ' in Thai) found only in Southeast Asia, which use a loud & large automobile engine, we sped through these crystal clear waters leaving the biggest 'rooster tail' wake you've ever seen.
>
> We're not sure which was smoking more, the muffler-less engine or the '80 pound soaking wet' chain smoking driver, but this only added to the Thailand charm.
>
> For those with sensitive ears, it's not a bad idea to bring a pair of ear plugs. But this is too unique & way too much fun to miss.
>
> 'James Bond Island'  is drop dead beautiful. Here they filmed 'The Man With The Golden Gun' as the title villain's hide out.
>
> Ok, it wasn't starring Daniel Craig nor Sean Connery nor even Pierce Brosnan. But Roger Moore was the funny Bond & probably had the most 007 films under his belt,
>
> And you can wander around this little piece of paradise, climb a small rocky path, read the signs that explain which scene was filmed where or take a dip in the sea.
>
> After this we were 'shaken & also stirred' by the long tail's next ride to a large floating building. Here.we climbed into 3 person canoes (with a native paddler) & floated in and out of a series of ocean front caves. Our paddler was happy to tell us some history, smile a lot & even take our pic any time we felt photogenic.
>
> The excursion ended with an all you can eat lunch of native Thai treats in an over the water restaurant. Loaded with friendly locals, they enjoyed telling us what exactly we were eating & what they thought was best.
>
> It all was delicious.
>
